MD Expo—Off to a Roaring Start!
MD Expo, the industry's only new & pre-owned medical
equipment trade show, will be held October 8-10 at the
Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort in Stone Mountain,
Georgia, only 20 minutes from downtown Atlanta. The 2002
MD Expo was a great success with over 350 attendees and
40 exhibitors. Once again, the Georgia Biomedical Instrumentation
Society will co-host the event.
The Stone Mountain Evergreen Marriott Resort features
a world class conference hall that will showcase over
60 medical equipment, service and parts exhibits with
an ALL NEW "Tech Room". This one-of-a-kind technical
demonstration area will feature service technicians who
will "work on" various types of medical equipment,
giving a unique education on how to service equipment.
Also included will be valuable information on parts and
service pricing.
Why has the MD Expo become such a huge draw? "It's
simple", says John Krieg, Show Director, "MD
Expo is the only show exclusively for medical equipment;
new, pre-owned, 3rd party parts and service. There is
simply no other show like it in the industry. Buyers can
preview everything from Anesthesia to Ultrasound. It’s
going to quickly become the #1 Medical Equipment tradeshow
of its kind."
After a successful first year, the 2003 MD Expo has moved
closer to Atlanta, to attract a much larger audience of
healthcare professionals. With a population of over four
million people in greater Atlanta, MD Expo should see
significantly higher traffic from local hospitals, clinics,
purchasing agents, biomeds, O.R. supervisors, ASCs, etc.
The highlight of the MD Expo will be the keynote address
on Thursday morning from industry icon Paul Thomas with
The Thomas Group. Paul will share his 25 years of expertise
in his address on "Creating a Personalized Stress
Management Plan."
Adding to the show's success are the Educational Tracks
covering topics on Medical Equipment Dealer/Business Development,
Biomed/Clinical Engineering, and O.R./Surgery Centers.
Over 20 seminars will cover topics on JCAHO accreditation,
AAAHC, export news from the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, Anesthesia,
Ultrasound and Sterilizer service training and small business
accounting tips. Robert Kerwin, Esq. will offer his insightful
wisdom on dealer contract issues. Many of the courses
offered have the opportunity to earn valuable CE credits.
MD Expo's seminars feature some of the industry's leading
experts including DITEC's Manny Roman, Paragon Service's
Tom Green, Intermed's Don Fletcher, Dan Schneider from
The Schneider Group, and many more.
MD Expo also provides a rare opportunity for U.S. medical
equipment dealers to network. Adds John Krieg, "Everyone
knows there is no substitution for 'face time' and 'eye-to-eye
contact'. We probably attend or exhibit at over 20 tradeshows
a year and we always come back with a positive experience.
Meeting old customers, making new ones, puting a name
with a face, the shows always yield benefits that email
and phone calls can't replace." Krieg also mentions
that at last year's show, overseas buyers were very pleased
to make several new U.S. contacts.
The new location also offers easier access to Atlanta's
Hartsfield International Airport (only 30 minutes away),
a championship golf course where the MD Expo Golf Tournament
will be held on the first day, and as Frommer’s
recent travel guide states, Stone Mountain Park is described
as, "one of the most beautiful parks in the country".
The main event for the MD Expo will be Oktoberfest Celebration
which will follow a special presentation by Welch Allyn
on “Solutions for the Future of Wireless Patient
Monitoring.”
And for those also in the home healthcare marketplace,
an added bonus during the week of the Expo is the Medtrade
show taking place October 8-11 at the World Congress Center
in downtown Atlanta. Only 20 minutes away from the Expo,
Medtrade is the largest home healthcare trade show in
the U.S., boasting over 1,000 exhibits and 25,000 attendees.
