What’s been happening at Digitec since we spoke this time last year?
2006 has been a great year for Digitec. We exceeded our goals for sales, process improvements and expansion. We will be moving soon to our new location, tripling the size of our facilities. This will give us the space we need for increased inventory, test bays and additional personnel for our continued growth.
How does a typical day begin at Digitec?
Each day begins with a thorough review of the previous day’s business. Every team member is involved, from order placement to quality control and shipping. Everything shipped the previous day is discussed in detail to ensure quality, efficiency, and accuracy, with the goal that we exceed customer expectations.
Tell us about your team.
Our team is a dedicated group of individuals who all have the same goal – customer satisfaction. The core premise in our hiring strategy is to select employees who specialize in their area of expertise. They are then cross-trained with other positions, so we never skip a beat when it gets busy or someone is out of the office. This ensures our customers are always our first priority.
Does Digitec have any new products?
Technotes are new. They’re short video training clips specific to individual systems and components. For example, if an engineer needs assistance in calibrating a compression system he will be able to log onto the website and view a short video presentation on how to do it. Each Digitec note is 3 to 5 minutes and will be available soon on DVD, USB drives and personal video players.
How is mammography changing?
Clearly, digital mammography is on everyone’s mind and now with the CR and CAD options available to us, the industry is definitely evolving. Our customers are trying to weigh the options in light of cost of ownership, purchase prices and reimbursement rates.
What are Digitec’s plans for 2007 and beyond?
2006 was great for Digitec and we are anxious to begin the New Year. Early in 2007 we’ll be moving into a new facility, which is triple the size of our current one. This will allow us to triple our inventory and vastly expand our functionality. As we grow, we will continue to add to our engineering and support teams.
As always, quality will remain our top priority. We are proud of our quality control process and our low rate of failure. In 2007, we will continue to push ourselves to deliver the best possible solutions for our customers. As digital mammography gains more momentum, we will help our customers make the transition.
