iLED Surgical Lights
Thanks to innovative lighting technology, LEDs (light-emitting diodes) can now be used to illuminate demanding environments. One example is in the operating room. Light-emitting diodes have numerous technical advantages over conventional halogen and gas discharge lamps, which include adjustable light characteristics, low heat generation, and a nearly unlimited life cycle.

The smaller, lighter iLED 3 allow for increased applications in surgi-centers, cath labs, and—in conjunction with the iLED 5—in general and specialized surgery. The iLED 3 uses 3 lighting modules compared to the 5 used in the iLED 5. Each module contains more than 30 individual LEDs.

MAQUET PowerLED Major Surgical Lighting System
The MAQUET PowerLED Major Surgical Lighting System is designed to enhance the comfort of the surgical team especially during lengthy procedures. Unlike halogen lighting, LED illumination emits virtually no infrared or heat. The PowerLED delivers 30,000 hours of illumination - 30 times more than halogen bulbs. Unlike other LED lighting systems, PowerLED requires no focusing or manual lighting adjustments. In addition, the appearance of wall cavities is the same regardless of the position of the light head over the surgical area, even when a number of LEDs are obstructed. PowerLED emits no ultraviolet light, making it ideal for UV-sensitive patients. Additionally, PowerLED incorporates secondary ambient light with five easy-to-adjust illumination levels, and accommodates the addition of flat screen and cameras.
